MSI Wind U100 and Ubuntu Linux

The MSI Wind  U100 is a fantastic ultraportable, but for some reason in Australia is only available pre-installed with WinXP preinstalled.  Now I’m definitely not a windows hater, but I really did want linux on my ultraportable so I installed Ubuntu 8.10.  The process itself was quite painless, but did require a few little tricks to get started and then complete with a fully functional ultraportable under linux.
